Is there any one in Zaragoza to improve my English level and practice btt at the same time? Keep well!
Wow interaptor, that was from an owner's manual!? I mean, that was really a heart-felt plea to be sensible on a bike. The person who wrote it probably knows someone who really messed himself up trying to do some sort of trick that was really just beyond his (or her) ability and preparation. And it is true that on youtube and similar sites we see footage of people doing some spectacular (and dangerous) stuff. But unless you have a natural gift, it usually takes slowly building up your skills, perhaps during years, before you get to the really advanced stuff, if you ever do at all. In the meantime, you'll have your share of falls and injuries. By the way, the manual focuses quite a bit on neck braces, but I don't think I've ever even seen a rider wearing one.
I looked at your bike on the internet, the Radon Race 7, and it looks really good, and a great value! So you're into cross country riding. Are there good trails in Villena? By the way, does anybody know of any good enduro hardtails? It seems hardtails usually have cross country geometry, but there must be some with front forks with 140mm of travel and a slacker head angle. Maybe you know, the man on the bike. Can you buy a bike like the one you just built? By the way, how about a picture of your new bike. Hello bttraf! For the moment no one from Zaragoza's passed through here, but maybe there's someone's out there reading this and will get in touch with you.
On another note, Spanish road biking champion Alberto Contador was found guilty of doping and has been banned from racing for two years. Sad :-( http://www.nytimes.com/2012/02/07/s...nd-guilty-of-doping.html?_r=1&ref=global-home
It's the kind of bike I ride. (Chumba HX1). Others to consider are Cotic Soul, Orange P7, Sirius and on-one. The soul is the top end of the market and on-one the low end (in terms of cost) I've ridden a P7 for many years with a 140mm fork. (The frame is for sale by the way) - good going up and down. HX1 - P7 -
The unfair resolution sounds like an envious Persecution against Contador. We all knew how the TAS is acting against Alberto Contador, and anyone how know how all that kinda shame pack that is the TAS acts is well aware of its unfairness. All I wanna say is that an innocent person has been accused and unfairly declared not innocent without any proof at all. No proof of cheating because there isn´t a single one. Poor guy. Go Contador.
I saw the press conference Contador gave today and it's hard not to feel that he was hard done-by. He's a top athlete in his prime, and now he's banned for two years, and all for having just trace amounts of Clenbuterol in his blood. Well, he's contesting the decision, which of course means legal fees, but maybe he'll be absolved.
It's a pity, of course, but as far as I know, only certain thing is that they found clembuterol in his blood. And this is something Contador could not refute in a convincing way. Maybe is not fair, and maybe all the process was certainly unfortunated, but it is what it is.
Mackem, the Chumba rocks! (the cat's cool too.) By the way, I had a look at the their website and was startled to see that apparently they're based in Orange County, California. That's where I'm from!! Cool, next time I'm in the area I'll have to pay them a visit. Their bikes seem a bit dear tho. Their build kit cost 1,970 bucks and for that you'd expect better than Sram X7 transmission and shifters. I'd also like 140mm of travel like you've got. By the way, a build kit? I suppose that means they send you the parts and you put it together yourself. http://www.chumbaracing.com/hx1-build-kits.shtml Actually the Orange P7 is cool too, tho the components are a bit disappointing for the price (1,100 pounds). For example the Avid Juicy 3 brakes are pretty crap, and Tora forks aren't too great, but maybe you can find the bike cheaper online somewhere. Steel frame. I don't mind a little extra weight as long as it means a sturdier frame. http://www.orangebikes.co.uk/bikes/2010/p7_s/ I don't think I'm going to buy a frame because I don't have the components to bolt on to it, pretty much have to buy everything new: probably expensive or time-consuming. Actually I'm looking for a versatility in a bike: want it to go up/down and pedal well (I want everything!). I imagine that's the case with these bikes, after all they don't have rear suspension so less worry about pedal bob. Lighter too. Also, being a hardtail, I suppose wheelies and jumps are easier.
this is the thing, he's a professional cyclist, part of his job is to monitor what goes into his body. At the very least he's been stupid, at worst he's a cheat. Only he knows which.
I've thought a bit more about it. Actually I could consider your frame as long as the parts on my Conor Tora could go on it, and I'd only have to get new front forks. So what size is the frame? How much are you asking for it? It's had years of use, so will it continute to hold up?
Gus (the cat) says hi! Versatility is the name of the game for me too, the P7, Chumba do the job nicely. I'm sure the Cotic, siruis etc do the same too. Orange bikes do seem expensive when you compare the spec lists, but compare the frames, there's so much detail in them and they ride so comfortably, it's clear there's a lot of work gone into them. (Yes, i'm a fanboy) The chumba frames are available from here http://www.progressive-bikes.co.uk/ (website not working today though), for "only" 300 pounds. The reason I bought it was that it did exactly the same as my p7 but with a lower weight and I thought the price was great for a new frame. In use it is a little harsher than the P7, which is very comfortable even on rocky descents and doesnt ride like a heavy bike. But overall i'm very happy, sometimes it's just nice to change (I have 2 P7s and had another stolen-so i like them). You may not need to buy too many components, your brakes/seatpost/gears/seat should all be transferrable, the only thing you need then is a big fork. i recommend the ones I have, Rockshox Sektor, one of the few genuine bargains out there, superb performance for less than 300 euros. You could always get a second hand on-one frame just to try things out.
:cuñao LOL Orange County is best Known as Pauls Teutuls - senior and junior- American Chooper paradise… Anything good coming from there is just devil angel on wheels. Chainring is the living proof on a bike!. :cuñao Cheers!.
I'm selling the frame with the headset and seatpost. It's a 19" frame, I'm 5'10. I've been asking 200 euros (but I can do a mate-rate if you are interested ). There's plenty of life in it, the only issue you may have is that there are a few scratches on the undercarriage. Which, you'd expect on a frame that's been up and down the Alps/pyrenees/Lake district. Here's some photos... https://picasaweb.google.com/108746085592393292995/DropBox
Ops! That´s right. I Knew there was something that didn´t fully match in California. That Orange C is in NY. We drop the word devil from devil angel then to describe Chainring
So the bike just has a few scratches, no dents. It's kind of hard to tell from the pics. I don't know if 19'' may be a tad big for me. My inseam measures is 84cm. If it's not too personal ha ha ha could you tell me yours? But I am about about 5'11. Orange County, NY! That's a surprise. So now I'm not a Hell's Angel!?
You're the angel, cos that's your name! So getting a new frame is something I haven't considered before. You see, on my Conor there's very little clearance between the rear wheel and the seat stays (like one mm), so when I go through mud it's like sandpaper, and I've been told (by a reputable bike shop) that sooner or later the stays will break, and then I'll be out of a mountain bike. So my Conor has a cross country geometry but I do more enduro stuff. So I could consider getting a new frame with a more enduro geometry. The only thing is that I may get a full suspension bike with enduro geometry one of these days, then I'll have two bikes that do more or less the same thing. So I don't know what I'll do, but if the frame is cheap it might be worth experimenting. By the way, it does seem like Contador messed up to some degree or other, but it also seems like they're really throwing the book at him. I mean there is reasonable doubt as to whether he was doping. So why the hard line? Maybe they want to make an example of him. Maybe there's a hidden agenda. I really don't know.
