The good thing of El Pardo is that I can ride from my house, (live in Aravaca) so I get rid of the car... same as the CdC (Casa de Campo for the folks), those are my training areas, along with the Monte del Pilar My riding bike bunch uses to go to the Sierra / all the area dams all the weekends, we don't know how lucky are we for living in such a big city as Madrid and have so many nearby suitable tracks, probably this will be our Saturday track http://es.wikiloc.com/wikiloc/view.do?id=2019602 Interaptor, don't worry, I'm a newbie in MTB, just since September, and the basics are easy... it depends of your guts and your self-preservation conciousness! :qmeparto:qmeparto:qmeparto:qmeparto If you come from the road bike, the physical tone won't be an issue One good track for the CdC is this one from one of my fellas, with almost all the funny trails http://es.wikiloc.com/wikiloc/view.do?id=2315268 I will be riding this evening around the CdC circa 19.30, I wanna test some brand new lights... let's see (if I'm able to see :qmeparto:qmeparto:qmeparto) Oh, btw Interaptor... I recommend you one handbook for MTB... I found it very useful for the basic techniques (I haven't reached the advanced ones yet :loco) It's called "Mastering Mountain Bike Skills" here's a sample (I've got a digital private copy available... :whistle:whistle) http://goo.gl/gskwk
It´s true! Sierra Espuña is full of tracks, It´s necesary a GPS in case you make a visit there or with a local rider, You have all options to practice mountain biking, xc, allmountain, enduro and now DH it isn´t allowed because in this last years riders open new tracks and now there are forest rangers to control this. All uphills I was speaking were because are incredible for road bikers. I can tell us that last summer there were a lot of riders from the capital, riders who spend his summer vacations near there in coastal towns. In was incredible, near two hundred riders there in summer. In this area there are famous road riders like Alejandro Valverde or Luis Leon Sanchez, and it´s very easily see them on the roads, there are some points were people meet them and they try to ride with them. Cheers!
You guys are really kind and helpful!. Thank U DavidSVP for posting that book in here. I´ll take a look asap. By reading it and with your help, the impossible is nothing logo comes true!. I just need some tips like those on the book no to compete but to survive in mountain biking, I mean, not to hurt myself. At first sight, what I presumably like the most concerning MTB´s is not the speedy way to go into forest, but the way to go into it!. I need a way to get in touch with the wildness no matter the speed. That said, I presume I reduce all my risks by the ultimate idea that inspires me to get into the mountain biking world, but I never know how I´ll end up! Armentano, you are incredibly lucky to live nearby Sierra Espuña. It´s a MTB paradise, nice weather (if well hydrated) and very friendly people over there!.It would be incredible to ride along with Alejandro Valverde!!! Or Luis León Sánchez!!!, and there it is quite likely to meet those super class bikers on the road!!!. I´d like to say the same around here, but too many people, too anonymous as well when riding. Bottom line here: Chainring will revover soon. We have Eastern or post-Eastern plans to meet up!, whenever he is fully recovered from the fall. COOL!. I encourage any of you guys that read this thread to join us if you are in the Madrid area or, like Armentano, you´re not but maybe drop in one day in Madrid!. You are all welcome to ride along with us whenever we can. Cheers.

You can be sure than if one day I will go to Madrid, I will take my bikes and I would like ride with us there, who knows if in the future I can meet with us there! On this moments I don´t move a lot because with this crisis I can´t spend a lot of money but in other case if some one of you come here we can ride together and I can show you some places, us you prefer on or off biking. Cheers
Hey guys, Here you have a nice video of our last ride in Cercedilla (David, we missed you!): Hope you like it. unky
Hello Doohan8! Incredible video! I can see your mountain biking control, for me this is too much. This tracks are really broken.Last saturday I fell in a similar track but less complicated just in a part with stones. And this week I have a neck pain,I hope that I´m well for the weekend.
WOW! Impressive vid, Doohan!!! I now feel a few light years from your skills... :???: Pd.- My best wishes 4 you Armentano to recover soon--
Thank you! I think so. Today It was better and I´m thinking that with two days more to recover it´s enough.
Great video, Doohan! And a great ride! I know you were having some brake problems, so that probably made it even more exciting for you In any case, I hope to be back on my bike soon, maybe in a couple of weeks. Like Armentano says, the terrain in Cercedilla is pretty technical: rocky and abrupt. I would say that's about my limit for enduro riding. I know you can find even more technical rides, but I'd like to come back in one piece. Hope you're feeling better Armentano!
good morning, that you are all injured. that big bitch, I hope that recovers quickly and begin again with the bike
Yeah C- Texas, it seems like every other guy in here is bike-affected in hospital or recovering at home taking heed of their doctor´s advice!!! Be careful out there. We want you all sane and safe back home. Pd.- Btw Chainring ... Is Juan Carlos already Ok?
I just talked to him and he's only ridden a couple of times since his accident, and he says he's completely out of shape now. I think this is actually quite hard for him because before he was VERY strong, stronger than me, that's for sure. In any case, I suggested going for an easy Friday-morning ride in a couple of weeks when I've recovered, and he's up for it! So if you're around obviously you could join us! It'll be fun to see you on your road bike :biker
In this video you can see how important those front forks are.
Thank you for the info on JC and the opportunity to ride with you. It will be my pleasure to do so, just tell me in advance to be able to call off any other event. Any easy ride sounds good to me, especially when a strong biker say the word easy… Even in that circumstances, both of you will remain stronger, but the main goal here is to get back in shape. The importance of the front fork!. Oh my God… My entry level bike will only have a Suntour XCT on it. Maybe good for me, cause it will give up before entering very rocky terrain, so that I can´t hurt myself on the bike!. Anyway, very poor fork, I know. I will check out the convenience / aptitude of it when I get the bike. Cheers!.
Happy weeekend for all! Tomorrow I will take the road bike. I´m recovering on this moments but I´m thinking with the road bike I can ride without pain. See you next week in this thread. Take care!
Interaptor, I'll let you know when we start planning a ride. I suppose the most likely date is Friday the 13th (good thing I'm not particularly superstitious). By the way, I'm sure your front forks are fine for what you want to do. Maybe after a while if you start really getting into it, you'll want to buy a good bike with good suspension. In any case, when we have a chance we'll go for a ride on our mountain bikes. Armentano, have a nice ride tomorrow!
It sounds like we're all quite versatile: road bike, mountain bike. If your average was 32.1 km/h you're in very good shape!
thank you very much, but this year strong I'm, but is very hard take the form I'm all the training winter, how a crazy jajajjajaja good nigth
