Hi chainring! I think that all the options that are you considering to buy are a great purchase. The Canyon it´s possible the best purchase only for price and components. At the other part it´s the Trek Remedy which in my opinion it´s expensive in comparison with the Canyon or other options, but I like his guarantee and performance biking. For me it´s too important the guarantee service for this reason I considered the Remedy. The Lapierre zesty it looks nice but I haven´t prove anyone, but I was reading something about his performance and it´s this kind of byccicle that I´m looking for. Only here in Alicante I hadn´t seen never a Yeti because here there aren´t any bike store who works with them. I have been riding with the Jekyll and the Genius and I don´t like for the only reason that the vesions who likes me are too expensive, a lot of difference at his performance biking between carbon frame and alloy frame
I've been checking out the Remedy online and people seem to really like it, although in this review they say the Remedy 8 is a bit heavy (39 pounds, 13,6kg), but it doesn't seem to adversely affect performance. They also don't seem to like the tires on the 2012 model (Bontrager XR4 Expert) because they tend to wash out at high speeds. But overall it looks like a really good option, and it does it all, which is what I want. Maybe the value for money is the biggest drawback, it's not cheap! http://www.mtbr.com/cat/bikes/allmtn-full-suspension/trek/remedy-8/prd_417909_1547crx.aspx
mmm, they rate my KTM quite well, glad to read it! it's the most suitable one for for my riding style, I haven't missed the shot!
A friend of mine has that bike and likes it. I was getting pretty excited because I thought I was going to get a Santa Cruz Blur LT2 (second hand). Imagine that: me on a Santa Cruz! In any case, the problem is that size M (on this bike) is too small for me, and the bike is in Orihuela. So in the end I'm still looking. I'll probably get a new bike, but I still look in the used bike section in case there are any bargains. http://www.foromtb.com/showthread.php/855395-SANTACRUZ-BLUR-LT2
Hahahaha, I have to remember you that it is not the bike but the biker that counts! Why not a Santa Cruz or whatever? Sounds like a good bike, but it is just a machine. In the second hand market you can get some bargains for sure, but be aware of the rip-offs over there…Take your time till you are pretty sure it is an outright ad. How is your recovering process going? Going well? Hope so, but this weekend´s weather forecast for Madrid is wind and rain…
Interaptor be positive! We are on tuesday, it´s possible the weather will change for the weekend. I wish it changes.
Yeah, but I haven´t seen a mistake in that forecast web so far today Besides I can see how accurate it is right now: Clouds, wind and rain are coming up at light speed :? I hope it´s not the same bad weather in Alicante. Lucky you!
At the moment if you see the same forecast web you can see the bad weather it´s here too, rain and wind which it´s worse. But we only can wait until the weekend. Seeing the weather it´s possible tomorrow I will ride at lunch time,I´m seeing the weather will be complicated all this week . Today it´s quite rare weather here.
Yeah!. Even in the sunny Spain you can´t take the sun for granted… You can never rely on April’s weather. Yesterday was a shiny hot day, today it´s a cold cloudy one. It helps to have a web like that to plan your rides but you never know… I hope yours is a peaceful sunny and pleasant ride. Mmm… There are three test bikes at Karakol shop in Madrid. (KTM Race 2.29, BH Lynx Alu 9.4 and Scott Genius 30). Maybe Chainring is willing to test-ride some of them, especially the Scott Genius 30. All LBS should have test bikes. More info on their web… David, Let me know if you want to go there for a test. If so, I would probably go with you to test the 29”…Just a newbie, It´s too soon for me for me to think of a full suspension bike. I wish Armentano were in Madrid. He has good experience in those machines… :rasta Cheers.
Hi interaptor, thanks for the information about the bikes at Caracol but they're basically rally bikes, even the Scott, and I'm looking for an all mountain bike with 140/150 mm of travel. I was really thinking of getting a new bike, but maybe it's a good time to get a used one because with this crap economy, it's a buyers' market. It's a good time to buy a bike, a house, or whatever. All you need is money money. Shifting gears, I may not be going for a ride this weekend after all. I think my leg probably needs another week to heal. I figure I've waited this long to go for a ride, it doesn't really matter if I wait a bit longer, and I don't want to risk injuring myself again. So let it rain!
Fà che piova!!! (Let it rain in italian). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZnNxlunET4&feature=fvst Cheers!
Chainring like you tell, on this moments there are used bikes in price. The best to buy one used it´s if is possible know her present owner, it´s important the maintenance in this kind of bikes, like maintenance at the fork or rear shock absorber. The only reason why I´m telling you this it´s because I have a friend who suffered this problem and he bought the bike at internet and finally he paid near two hundred euros more to repair the fork. I don´t know there in Madrid but here in Murcia there are very good prices in new bikes at the bike stores.
Hi Armentano. Yeah, I'm not just looking at used bikes but also new ones. Lately I've been thinking that I'd love to get a Reign, and I really love the color of the Reign 0 (too bad it's the most expensive one). But maybe I'll find one on sale! http://www.giant-bicycles.com/es-es/bikes/model/reign/9648/50654/
God bike friend! I don´t know what price are offering to you, but in Murcia there are a knowed bike store which makes good prices in Giant bikes and until tis moments they buy your old bike. Ciclos Borrasca I know a lot of riders here who bought the giant bike there for the only reason they safe a lot of money with her old bike. I can understand why you tell the genius it is and xc bike friend jajajaja You will go beyond to the dark side with this kind of bike. Take care !
That´s good to know, Armentano. The Maestro System from Giant is considered to be one of the, if not the best full suspension mechanism. By seeing that bike my only fear is Chainring´s likelihood increase of an accident when taking advantage of it... That bike needs not to be ridden but tamed I presume. Cheers.
Hmmm, I may be drifting towards The Dark Side, buahahaha... I've heard really good things about Giant's Maestro suspension. Basically it's a VPP system and is progressive. Apparently suspensions can be lineal or progressive, each with its advantages and disadvantages. Lineal systems are more sensitive and suck up big blows better, but they tend to bottom out. So if you're doing more hardcore stuff progressive shocks are better, and for lighter stuff a lineal system will do the job. At least that's how I understand it.
still available? Where should i address? Can i carry it 2 my riding zone? 2 many questions!? i´m in love with niners sorry mate i've read it, no need 2 answer woops
Nothing to be sorry about mate. For more info, as you already may have figured out, contact them at their website. A 29" is waiting for you!. http://www.karacol.es/ Cheers!
Most definitely look at second hand, there's some excellent bikes out there for good prices. Just wish I had some money. Had a few days off the bike, went for a couple of days to Toledo, nice weather wish I'd taken the bike. I'm back in Pais Vasco and the monsoon has arrived.
