Yeah, I had no option but to be creative since the original pics were so dark and big to be posted in here. Next time I´ll try to avoid taking the photos in the shade for better looking pics. I hope Verity is not seeing them!.

Have a great fun enduro weekend in El Escorial!

Ha, good going guy's. Plus 100km's on the road sounds like...errr, pain! lots of pain lol.

    Are you racing enduro?

I broke my derailleur on some rocks today, I have another to go on but I've never figured those damn things out. Guess it will have to be Monday before I can get that sorted. So no riding at the weekend for me, and not beach weather. Damn it!

No enduro racing for me, but on Sunday I'll be on an enduro ride. Actually I'm fairly cautious. Seems the enduro crowd are always talking about this injury or that one from a fall. I actually hope to avoid anything too serious, but I guess you never know... But like I say, I tend to be careful. Last Sunday on El Ingeniero I was the last one, everybody else was going faster than me.

Broke your derailleur!? A friend of mine did that a few months ago and had to replace all sorts of things: derailleur, chain and other stuff. Couldn't use his bike for a while. In my case I have five bikes, all for a different purpose. For example I have an enduro bike and a XC bike, and as you've seen above a road bike, also a jump bike and an old hybrid one. So you say you have another bike, right?

No beach around here. Have to wait till August when we go to Ferrol.

What is el ingeniero? a trail?

Yeh, I have a giant reign in addition to the Cove. Got it in pieces at the moment though doing the bearings, also a xc trek, nice but I'm not really a xc type, get bored without gravity, rocks, speed and just trash that poor thing. Should sell it off really just does not get used.

    Have a good weekend enduroing!

Yeah, El Ingeniero is a trail on the Segovia side of the Madrid Sierras.

Cove, haven't heard much about that bike, but now that I look at your avatar picture, looks like you have a Cove G-spot. I read a bit about your 'all mountain assassin' here, or is it a free ride?

    http://nsmb.com/3804-first-look-2010-cove-g-spot/

The Reign's a really good bike! Or so I hear anyway. Too bad yours is in pieces. I think having a XC bike around's really useful, that way you can ride with the XC crowd and keep up.

Sounds and looks a nice trail!

I have a late model Free Ride, love it. Cove is one of the last of the made in house frame manufacturers, not many left as most is now made in Taiwan. Its cool to be able to ring the guy who made the frame or owns the company when you want to know something. I've always loved their work and great customer support. Had a Gspot FR many years back and loved it, tried much thereafter but wanted another. Love this bike, it eats up anything you can throw at it. Built it up for gravity stuff and Manzeneda bike park, which is close to me. I want to do that Big Ride/Avalanche race there. I'm thinking about the new one, but cant honestly find a good enough reason with mine working so well for me. Have a PUSH'D and TFTuned coil on the back, just rocks.

The Giant is kinda under-rated imho, it's that good. A really great frame and if it had turner or such written on it, would be a classic. Great suspension design, nice geometry, all round great frame. Only thing I don't like about mine is I you can't fit a Coil over - I really don't get on with the air shocks. Might look out for a X model, but the Cove get's all the riding, just suits me so well. Have this one built up lighter with air forks, and shock works as my XC/AM type but I ride the Cove every day, for everything.

Lucky, I live in the mountains, on the edge of the forest.

Wow, the cove is a very cool bike, and it sounds like you're really passionate about it :babas I have to admit it looks very cool. So what kind of tyres have you got on it? What do you think of the Hutchinson Cougar I've got on mine? Are you into tubeless?

So your Cove is out of action for the moment. Sounds like you've got to get the G-Spot or the Reign back in working order pronto, or start getting into the XC scene :)

Did you say you go riding every day?

Well, it is a tool and it does what I want it to do and does not break on me. Rides like a 24" cruiser BMX race bike which is perfect for me. They are built strong and functional. Fit for the North Shore, works in Galicia with a lot of rock strewn steep down hills. I'm old enough to be over the next greatest thing syndrome so it is a keeper for me. I've never used Hutchinsons, so cannot comment on that tyre. Have sets of Maxxis High Rollers, Minnion, and Larsens. Scwhalbe R.R's and have used Michelins a lot in the past and last week put on a set of Schwalbe Hans Dampfs and they are the best tyre I've ever ran! really recommend those highly, excellent tyre I think.

Nearly fixed the Cove today, so should be back running tomorrow or Monday at the latest, so saved from the XC bike, lol, I really should sell it..haha

More or less, living on the mountains it is just 30metres tarmac and I'm on some really nice trails. So yeh, ride a lot and it is part of the reason for being here, it is a mountain biking, wilderness sport's heaven I think. MTB, mountain walking, Horse riding, fly fishing just perfect!

I've heard of him. Very fast promising downhill racer isn't he? I think he won the Gallego open...

No have not been. Sounds like it would be a longer less efficient puncture repair out on the trail and I don't like the sound of the liquid slopping around inside the tyre with gyroscopic forces but I guess I should try it before judging.

Ey! How high were you when you ate that banana?! Look at the horizon: you can see the curve surface of the Earth!. No better place for your enduro bike to get into work!. Cool!

Hey Kanza, the Schwable Hans Dampfs; I should try to remember that, tho I'm not looking for a tire at the moment.

Mountain biking heaven: you said you live in Orense, didn't you?

What derailleur have you got on your bike? Nice photo! Nice bike!

Hey Interaptor, I think we were at about 1,600 m when we took that pic at the top of Monte Abantos. Is that really the curve of the Earth?! Amazing!

We had some spectacular views on the ride, like this one of the Valle de los Caídos.

Hi lady and gentlemen! I'm from Madrid and was born in the early fifties (hence “carroza”). Currently live in La Navata, close to Villalba, but part of my life goes on at Alicante.
Bike riding is only one year old for me, either urban, trail or road. Nevertheless, I'll dare running Treparriscos this Saturday with my sister, brother, brother in law… and other hundreds. I've spent some weekends training for areas that Chainring and Interaptor seem to know quite well: Colmenar, Soto, Miraflores, Guadalix, Rascafria, Navacerrada… Let's see what happens.

Going to Interaptor's point, must be kidding about Earth's curve, isn't he? Camera lens focal lenght?
By the way, nice view from Abantos! I love it.

Hello 'Carroza', ha ha ha. I think you're a few years older than me, but let's not talk about that. The important thing is how old (young) you feel.

'Treparriscos'? this is the first I've heard of it. I should probably read more road biking magazines, or even see what's going on in the road biking section of this forum. I ride my skinny bike every Friday and Interaptor has been joining me whenever he can. Maybe we can meet up sometime! But my main thing lately has been mountain biking. I like enduro riding tho I don't tend to go as fast as the others. Here's a pic of a technical section yesterday at El Escorial.

It's the “poor sister” of Quebrantahuesos big fest (rutómetro)
I'd like to be able to ride down hill like that, but I'm a lot of practice away, snif, snif.

Hi Peldez, -new kid in town , yeaaaaah!- have a warm welcome to this part of the forum.

Oh no, no, no... In your case and cases like yours, I don´t wanna know what carroza means except for that of a carriage behind some horses!. So Don´t put the carriage before the horse!, age doesn´t matter at all especially when you´r planning to do a Treparriscos. Oh my God. I´d recommend Chainring to google it and see what we´re talking about!. Great bike challange you´re about to face!.

Not sure about the "curved horizon". I was kidding, wasn´t I?... Some cameras tend to take pictures a bit of "barrel distorsion" way due to the lens, others have a horizon height setting which will keep the horizon straight, but can´t really say what caused the peculiar horizon that this picture has... SOme days ago we had a professional photographer among us. She could spread some light on this -Verity you there?!!!- . So I guess you refuse to think it´s symply the Earth playing with us!... I don´t know how much of a curved line you´d able to see at 1.600 meters high when seeing at the horizon...

Well, now that we know you are in the Sierras, We can meet up one of these days and check it out tho as seen on the last pic, Chainring has to keep his eye on the opposite direction!. Nice pic.

    Cheers.
