In my book, where I go down the roots is pretty advanced stuff, but it's really helpful just to learn basic techniques for stuff like cornering, climbing, going down hills, getting over obstacles, going through a rock garden, and all that.

That inner tube looks thrashed. I mean, has it been in your tires for a million years?

LOL It looks like a recycled tube or something taken from garbage but actually they came standard with my road bike, served me (and secretly & softly ruined my tire at the same time ;-)) for aprox. 1 year... Not anymore!. Cheaper B´twin tubes and tires are not that crap.

You´re playing with fire and you´re goiing to get burned man, you got away harmless from a dire strait... i still can´t conceal how did you manage to do it. When you came down the steep you almost turned the handlebar and a faceplant was clearly on the way, you were really lucky!

i wouldn´t had dare myself too if i ever have loved my hardtail frame... but you know as good as me that the issue gets solved by leaping and not rolling it ;) different case we´ve got the balls..XD

what´s wrong there? Too fussy for a tube, it´s enough just as it fits and fills the tyre! Seriously: what a douche tube lass!

Btwin makes the difference at least it´s trustworthy

Jorge´s right. While inspecting the spot and previous to your jump, Did you see that rock in the middle of your way out?!!!. It´s a narrow scape, Chain!

Well, me and the guy I was with had a good look at the jump before I tackled it and we figured out the best line, which I pretty much followed. I'm sure I could've done it better but I didn't actually think I was in danger of wiping out. But maybe I was wrong. You can see things better with this pic.

Yeah, much better. It´s not a rock, but as Jorge says there is something strange when you land your front wheel. Don´t know exactly what it is but that spot gives me the shivers. It´s certainly dangerous...

Well, my last wipeout was a bad landing when doing a jump, in this case it's a drop but the landing is similar. So maybe I should rethink my technique.

I´m sure it is not your technique the important thing to be rethought, but the places you look for to put it into practice ;-) Be careful, your technique is Ok to my eyes...

Yeah, I saw there was an onlooker who couldn't believe her eyes.

Speaking of jumps, here's one I did last Sunday between la Morcuera and Miraflores.

Yeah, I'm a bit camera shy unless I've got my helmet and shades on. But as you can imagine, on my bike I'm a picture junky, just can't get enough!

I hope this isn't dumping but here's another one from last Sunday, it was taken at the Morcuera pass where the 'Morcuera trialera' starts.

In my case shyness is not the word. You Know, when I´m on my bike, I love the feeling of being anonymous by wearing protective or specific biking stuff. At first, with no bumper´s plate, my face into that helmet and no way to identify me, not even my family knew who I was. For a person like me (I think it´s the same for Chain) who truly appreciate anonymity, keeping a low and hidden profile is simply great!. I do feel very confortable. Besides, I could be whatever you want me to be. A pop start, a politician, a Tour de France winner or a prince!. It´s the best idea for notorious people ever!!!. Exciting idea too, we don´t know who we´re riding with, who´s the guy we´ve just passed or the guy who waived us a while ago…
Wow! That´s a very nice photo mate with some of the first snow of the year on the background. It´s quite similar to that on your avatar, but with a substantial difference: winter is almost here!!!.

WoW! Guess what I´ve thought when I´ve seen your pic: speed!. You really seem a speed demon on your bike mate!. It´s obvious you´re downhill racing on your bike, but the white dust you leave behind your wheel tell us you´re facing that jump at a very high speed mate!!!. A goat is not capable of such high speed, speedyJorge ;-). Very nice pic.

Can you believe this awful weather we´re having?. Lately it seems like we cyclist are being kinda mistreated by weekend rain, so far this fall I haven´t done much riding. Maybe we should encourage ourselves not to mind wet weather riding. I presume everyone in the forum is waiting for tomorrow´s Sun to turn up on their bike too… But this is the limit! I´m gonna go for a quick ride right now!. Seeya

Today I went to Cercedilla with 7picos. We rode almost to Fuenfría, then went down the 'old Schmidt trail', which wasn't really that great, it's so technical that you pretty much have to get off your bike and walk at times. So we pedaled back up to the Vereda de Enmedio and went down it to the República highway, then up the highway a bit to the Vereda Alta and all the way down to Cercedilla.

The Veredas are really great because they last a long time and it's not so technical that you have to stop, so you can achieve 'flow'. It was really fun. And this in spite of the fact that everything was wet and slippery, which makes it that much more dangerous, and exciting. The challenge is to stay on your bike even when it slips a bit. You also really don't want to use the front brakes much because that makes it more likely the front tire will slide out on a wet root or rock. It doesn't matter so much if the rear tire slides.

Aside from that, a guy, who has tubeless tires, blew them both out at the same time. So we spent ages repairing them. Tubeless are nice because they can run on less pressure so you get better traction, and you needed that today, but if you get a flat they're a huge hassle. Then about an hour later the same guy blew them both out again! OMG!! They guy was so bummed, he ended up walking back and missing the best part of the ride (the Veredas). This has got me a bit worried because my front tire is tubeless.

Hiyaaaaaaa! Both your rides and texts are getting more and more technical. Yeah, due to last rain there were many slippery spots mainly on overpasses or near mud edges. I myself have experienced my rear tire out of control for milliseconds while handlebar turning to one side. I like it if you´re able to quickly take over. I´d like to have some practice on a frozen pad, a snowy trail or an icy path!!! It´s a nice skill, not a dangerous one but really fun if under control.

Concerning flats and blow outs and breakdowns, It´s funny how during my outing this morning I have been eyewitness to a series of them. I have never seen so many in so short an amount of time. It must be the puncture day… Almost everyone were fixing tires, wheels or whatever bike stuff out there!.

You got any pics to show off today? ;-)
