Hi all of you guys. I have to say that reading both of your chronicles it's been quite entertaining... Jorge and Gollum would be very good friends nowadays, hu hu... I can assure that P. S. I'll introduce myself, I'm one of Jorge's victims in Alcalá. ¡Hala! Yo también tengo Tapatalk.
Great to hear from a friend of Jorge´s in Alcala!. I encourage everybody over there to participate in this thread and enjoying the English world as well as the Biking world. So you describe yourself as a victim!!!. LOL I see... It is blindingly obvious Jorge is in a state of bliss when on a bike. This guy is really good mate, and a funny cyclist too: As Chain says, he was jabbering funny english and spanish words to himself while following David´s Rallon!!!. Not to mention the goat in his avatar LOL!!! But let´s set aside funny things and say he is proven to be in good shape. So good that, as you say, you and -I presume- most of his friends in Alcala have to bend over backwards to follow him. ;-) . Chain´s good as hell (no matter if it is XC, Enduro or road biking) and Jorge did follow him on his Alma. Man... Jorge´s definitely all bite and no bark! ;-)
Hi! Cool forum name you have, sounds vaguely like Buzz Lightyear, ha ha. In any case, feel free to write any time you like, always good to get some fresh blood around here, ha ha I can see the Gollum-Jorge connection, I mean the Ring and Jorge's Alma must weigh about the same, ha ha, and they're both equally beautiful In any case, I was thinking that a top-of-the-line carbon fiber hardtail must be as light as a feather, probably weighs about the same as my road bike: 8 kg. Yeah, maybe I'll see if I have any change in my pocket and pick one up, ha ha.
hiya Mario! hey, my legs are still stiff, why is it so? Furthermore, why are you talking about my precious? 'She's mine, we are good not as those hobbits, those hobbits want to steal you my precious' i really loved El PArdo, wishing you the best for tomorrow...Cheers! PS: don't you ever ask the weight of a bike nor to a lady, too unpolite
Happy New Year everyone. I've been in England for a couple of weeks. Didnt ride my bike much but did lots and lots of eating of traditional English food. Roast dinners, xmas pudding, curry etc... Now, I'm fat...
Hey... we can do the Pardo again sometime if you like. BTW, did you get a track of our ride cos we pretty much hit the best places. Yeah, I was thinking that, you know, I kinda like your bike, and I uh was wondering if it was my size... you know, just idle curiosity, no reason, don't worry about it... ha ha ha ha (evil laugh) Good to hear from you again! It sounds like you're well-nourished after partaking in the pleasure of eating, also known as recreational eating, ha ha. but there may be something to that: eating for pleasure, not because you're hungry. I've been thinking about that because recently I've seen some USA documentaries, and the guys were huge! Like three times as big as me. Well, I'm sure you don't look like them, and now it's time to get back on the bike and start enjoying exercise, the great outdoors, and fresh air! Our hobby is sooo cool!
Thanks for your welcome guys. As you probably could guess the other day, Jorge is like our own Sandman, you know. Every time we ride together of course I enjoy every bit of the track he follows, but, just in case, I always go covering him far at the back, fighting for keeping myself alive... I'll of course continue following this thread, because I never thought about the possibility of mixing up both mountainbiking and English speaking... Great idea! And Chainring, you're pretty right about my nickname. ¡Hala! Yo también tengo Tapatalk.
Hey McKem!!!. So after your recent visit to England you´re not anymore the fast and furious man going up&down the mountains on a bike you used to be in Spain, but a FAT and furious man capable of killing for hamburgers ;-) What´s the point of getting a "Hand made with pride in the UK" labeled bike frame when the rider don´t match the facts? All right, all right... even though you have experienced such this setback, it need not prevent you from riding in the future and getting in the shape you had before your trip to England your loved top 3 fatty foods ;-) It could get worse. As Chain says, America is first in the world in terms of fatness. If David would have chosen California as the place to live, it would be even more difficult to tighten his belt. Jorge and Mario are setting a good example for you to follow and get rid of those Christmas calories: full blast on your roadie and mtb to keep your body free of fat stores, man.
It's nice to get back to healthy Spanish food like chorizo, morcilla, tortilla, turron. Oh, wait, ooh my belly.
Touché! Anyway corcerning fat it´s not what you eat, but what you do. So exercise in small bursts with brief resting periods and add resistance training to your rides asap!!! You need your bike on the road, your body at work... and we need some proof of it, like photos or videos of you on a bike man!. ;-)
I'm not exactly what you could use as a good example for fit. I've just arrived home after visiting both my girlfriend and my relatives in Cantabria and León so, without my bike and with so many and so delicious food I could find in those regions you can guess the result . At least I took my running shoes with me, and I even used them! Now it's time to get back to healthy routine, maybe one day I'll start biting and stop barking...
I'd say that besides all the healthy exercise we get riding man's most noble invention, what you eat is important too. Hey, you are what you eat. You've got to steer clear of fatty or sugary food. In my case I'm a vegetarian, so that means I end up eating things like tofu, which comes from garbanzo beans ('chick peas' on the British isles), and that's pretty much all GM (genetically modified), along with corn. Disturbing. Really, the more you find out about the food we eat, the more worried you get, but you have to find a balance, somewhere between the ignorance-is-bliss corner and the food-obsessed corner. I personally eat much less than I used to, and am much more careful about it. But I do have a sweet tooth, gotta have 'sugar in the morning, sugar in the evening, sugar at suppertime'... well maybe chocolate, pretty much my only vice. Yeah, sorry, what I meant to say or at least forgot to say was in relation to quantity of food, not quality. Sorry for posting it in such a quick way that eventually I got misunderstandable. So let´s put this honourable way to boost the use of the most noble invention you´re talking about : "No matter what you eat as long as your diet´s healthy and balanced, you can take the negative effects of excess of food out of your body by exercise", taking also for granted what we can consider standard ingestions of food and of course you´re right about the importance of good and natural, organic food. But considering the hours you spend on your bike, I´d say chocolate is not your only vice!!! Now, we´ll keep alert to know what the third one is! ;-) BTW Dorothy McGuire passed away on sept 2012. A pinch of sugar in the sky. This was one of her last performances at tv: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ys1XYmL51A The Quebe Sisters, from Texas, as their natural heritage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HwlM2MWxZzQ Cheers!
So If you by any chance had a genie in a bottle that offered you three wishes in a row, don´t be so dim to take them one by one according to the three vices you´ve confessed. Don´t let wish #1 be chocolate, wish #2 a bicycle and wish #3 a laptop. Take it all in one step by having this as your 1st wish to have two more hidden vices or whises left. . Inclement (Uk way) Ugly (USA way) weather out there to go for a ride...
Ha ha! Good way to save wishes, isn't it? Protection, to avoid our wheeled vice's harms when it makes us "touch" the ground harder than usual... That sounds to me as a very good wish, doesn't it? ¡Hala! Yo también tengo Tapatalk.
Well, I´m not into the enduro side of biking but c´mon Mario! For once in your life a genie comes to you and you just ask for a 200 euros shield protector!!! C´mon boy! What about owning the moon or being capable of flying?!!!. Bikes are blinding you man!!! ;-)
pppppffffffftttttttt, this weather sucks. The thermometer down the street reads -1º. In any case, going for a quick run. Now this is sensible, especially if your a bit accident prone, like moi. Your health is everything! OK, a big wish, how about being talented, on and off bikes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6EYrqIn0yI
Hey! It's a surprise to see a forum topic in English to practice! I'm British and I've been teaching English for many years, it's a great idea for you to do this! It all helps to improve!
Sorry for the misunderstanding. I didn't mean to get an armor for free. What I wanted to say was to turn the biker into something hitproof, quite better I think. ¡Hala! Yo también tengo Tapatalk.
