Yeah, no better motivation for Brian than using his EMD and strength to make us bite the dust! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h1ktPbcvN38 Cheers!
Today your choice was mud or snow, I chose asphalt so a friend and me rode to Soto del Real, me on my hybrid. Then Brian called me so we went went mountain biking in Valdelatas (now on mtb), got good and muddy so had to make a stop at the gas station to wash off the bikes. So a good day all things considered. Good video! We compared bikes today and his is a bit lighter than mine.
Here's a pic taken on the bike lane between Colmenar and Soto. That's Manzanares El Real and La Pedriza in the background.
Hohohoho! Snow, mud or asphalt. That is to say taking choices under the weather rules, yeah, it´s winter time and the weather has taken over. That photo says it all. Sunny but freezing cold, windy day. Those clouds at your back move pretty fast. Rain was around you. After taking off your gloves, it seems like you are about to pull your sleeves towards your hands!. We´ve to plan some XC action together with Brian. Let´s hope the weather improves.
As well as that, I'm sure my Diamondback (on the left) was making everybody green with envy. I mean, this is a classy bike. You're right about everything, it was cold, but the guys who went to the Sierras, they were like making snowmen! Brrrrrr. Yeah, I sure we'll be riding with Brian, but bear in mind he's a novice on mountain bikes. BTW, he thinks he might be able to go for a ride on Friday, the only problem is that's road bike day, and both Juan Carlos and Joselu are thinking of going. Maybe Brian can go on Saturday. So Jorge, how did your race go?
Great! I think i´ll be up for those rides no matter what to ride on!. Dude! Contrary to MacKems thoughts, I love hybrids! Yours is so lovely...That horn is cooooool! Jorge is trying to make up his mind. After finishing second on the race, he thinks it´s time for a new bike to get back on top. He´s seriously considering Decathlon´s 6.0 full suspension Rockrider big offer as seen on some ads: Get the discount of the year! Sales bargains will never be the same after this incredible offer. Our prices have droped drastically as never before. You must and have check this out!. Get a 2% discount on our bikes. Yep, you´ve heard it right! A 2% off on all our 6.0 Rockrider models starting from now. Take immediate advantage of it. Get it NOW or you´ll regret it. ;-) Cheers!
Hmm, I don't know. I mean there are some things you don't want to do, you know, like fart during sex, spit during a job interview, not go poop before a bike ride; or buy a cheap full suspension bike! Having said that though, Jorge, maybe it's time you experienced a full suspension bike, swap your Alma for a RR 6.0? ha ha.
Ho ho :meparto I can't even imagine Jorge on one of this managing some steep trails. Awesome! :qmeparto Jorge is in love with his beloved carbon, so it's quite difficult to see him cheating on "her". ¡Hala! Yo también tengo Tapatalk.
Ha ha ha You never know. Anyway, have you noticed Jorge´s absence since he announced he was going to take place in that race? MMM... that 6.0 could be a good idea since he might have got a bad place in the race. Maybe he´s at the Decathlon facilities in Alcala right now transgressing Chain´s good-citizen rules!... OK, ok, ok!!! It´s not right to criticize people behind their backs! Jorge, you there mate? Has your affair with your Alma gone to pot? ;-)
So what is this race I keep hearing about? I tell you one thing, all I'm trying to do these days is just maintain my fitness and skills level, not much hope in improving it with these cold winter days. Did you know that it might actually snow a bit tomorrow in Madrid? Haven't seen that for a long time.
Yep, It regularly snows in the hills not farder than 30 Kmts around us in Madrid and the cities/towns over there, but thankfully (or not?!) not so often in the city or suburbs though, where it´s more difficult for the snow to accumulate. I think It´s a natural shield. Any higher altitude would mean perpetual snow in downtown Madrid... Though It´s slightly snowing now, white cold menacing sky out there, I don´t think today we see very much of snow around here. Dude, this is the worst time in the year to improve your bike skills or maybe not if you want to cope with icy fun roads... So, Not riding? Then I´ve a big question for you native anglo people to answer!. What´s the first thing that comes on your mind when you see this?. Just only sincere one required! A) Save some bucks by riding a bike. B) Ride and fart on the consumist world. Cheers!
been feeling a hissin' in my ears have you mentioned me? i'm afraid to tell you i'm kind of disappointed with the result of my race.... As i skipped some of my rites i eventually got what i deserved. So let's list some of them just to be aware of what went wrong. 1. Do not race scantily clad, reckon it's January and blistering cold. You have clothes enough to wear, i'm a racer not a stripper 2. Do a decent warm up, it will be later rewarded 3. Do concentrate on the race, focus on the race, your aim's in the race. As you can see i'm pretty angry with my pereformance. My legs were soon stiff, i hardly caught my breath since the second km and my knees still hurt so i can´t tell any further. Sorry blokes
Scantily clad, you mean like her? Ha ha ha, seriously tho, sounds like you're licking your wounds, but next time I'm sure you won't trip over the same stone twice, but they'll be new ones, ha ha. Seriously, you'll do better next time.
I went to the race also, but only to take some pics... And I definitely prefer Chain's option!! latano ¡Hala! Yo también tengo Tapatalk.
Mmmmm... In my opinion not a major factor in Jorge´s failure. Scantiness gets the bike lighter. We can´t pin a rap on it. Not that easy. I´m afraid further investigation is needed. Maybe a RR 6.0 would have been a better choice to ace the race. ;-)
right! i worn as less as possible just to carry the less possible weight. Shamefully i'm not gorgeous so i realise why people shouted and pointed at me. Yawn!! it's another dull morning , hidy boys? There's a possible rendezvous in the air, chances are high for a saturday Pardo ride...
Well, depending on the weather and the guy´s plans we have some rides or alternatives in mind for the next two days, Saturday included. Friday is our road biking day but the weather forecast is not so good for cycling. Some rain is expected later this week. We´d also like to go along with Brian and his new 29" XC bike, you know mountain biking, and Friday seems to be his only available day of the week. Maybe our bikin´ day will eventually turn cross-country day or maybe Brian will clear his schedule enough to ride on Saturday... So, we´ll have to make some decisions here or let the weather make them for us. My Ghos, Is the life of a cyclist always this unpredictable? ;-)
Despite of the weather, good luck out there on tarmac, i predict you'll do ride tomorrow and so will i. However, what about a quickie on Sat at PArdo??
