Right, you mean you went to the petrol station and hosed it down. That's what I do after pretty much every ride in the Sierras. Here's a pic from last Sunday at Hoyo de Manzanares.
Nice pic, Chain! I only went for a ride there once, a long time ago, but it's a superb place to go, isn't it? About me, today I'll come back to my indoor rides, and that's something I'm looking forward to, because it's been three weeks inactive... :malaleche ¡Hala! Yo también tengo Tapatalk.
Nice word, 'superb'. It really is a superb place to ride. We've been there the last two Sundays, but when spring comes I'm looking forward to higher altitudes, like Cercedilla. We really have some nice places to ride around here! Three weeks off the bike! About a year ago I was off for six weeks but it was because of an injury. In any case, definitely start getting back in shape for the spring. In any case, here I am riding over rocks. You can see I'm concentrating for this one.
that last one bears a huge photoshop work on it , isnae? i've been out of the radar these days, hope you forgive me i promise to be a good boy now on. It's this weather what makes me so darn moody. So what's on your mind for the weekend blokes? Guess i 'll probably roll over some rocks at LA Cabrera just to step out of pottery mud ah last but not least furthermore under the economic situation we are in, fancy a try? Yeah, the last photo was taken by a guy who's quite fond of photoshop, well it wasn't photoshop but something like it. In any case, it does give another perspective on things. He can make pictures look like drawings and paintings. Seems everyone's falling off the radar these days. It's probably this winter which just seems to be going on forever. And it doesn't look like I'll be on my road bike tomorrow, so for the rest of the week I'll feel like something's missing. My body's come to expect intense suffering and a long hard ride every week. In any case, don't worry and just write here when the mood strikes you. Interesting job ad. Actually I think you have all the languages: English and French. Maybe you should go for it!
If you like uphills, Hoyo will not disappoint, and the downhills are a lot of fun too. None of us were able to pedal all the way up, but maybe you can do it if you're really strong and have a light weight bike. P.S. This isn't me BTW.
Whoa, that really looks like some inclement weather, not sure I'd go out in it. Over here we're moaning about how cold it's going to be tomorrow in Moralzarzal, well below freezing and windy, but no snow or rain.
Hi guys!. Out of the loop till Wednesday, now in raptures over how tough cyclists you are. As I see It´s freaking cold in Madrid and Vizcaya but you´re keepin´ the ball rolling. Looking forward to getting rid of this suit I´m wearing, getting there and putting my bike on the road as well!. See U soon. Keep on pedaling, in winter if you aint hurt´n you aint bik´n!!! :vampire
Good to hear from you Inter! Sounds like you're up to your eyes in work. Don't be in too big of a hurry to take off your suit tho. Looking forward to our next ride!
We had a good ride in Moralzarzal today. It wasn't as cold as I thought it was going to be, but of course I was mentalized for the worst. In any case, a very nice ride. I have to say it's a nice area, all kinds of good trails, and good enduro trails. When we were heading back to the cars we got a bit of snow, which was nice. Don't see too much of that in Madrid. However, the trip was 'eventful'. There were eight of us and one guy fell and broke his helmet. He's OK and we can all be glad the helmet did its job. Now he has to replace it: it was quite expensive, a Casco Viper MX with a removable chin guard (like I have). We didn't take that many pics but here's one I took on my mobile of a technical uphill.
yeeehah mate that climb's rad! i absolutely love the challenge of those gorgeous climbs, actually you're lucky don't miss a nice ride a weekend, isn't it?? . About your mate, a hard crash as you mentioned, and that's the time when we realise how important a helmet is. Any other nasty injurie so far?? Hope not, mind yourselves out there This was another race weekend for me... i took part in a mixed duatlon with my trouble and strife , it was interesting, did our best and had quite fun so i don't actually know how to say it help me out! otra muesca en el revolver?? another notch on the gun?? sounds weird, guess you caught the meaning and know the idiom I almost forgot it, this weekend's stage 2 for Madrid XC championships, Alpedrete track's on the view and i'm still appalled for what the weather conditions would be PS: welcome home inter!!
Thank you!. All right lads, talking of suits that suit your bike style and suits that look the business when on a bike, this is the "guess who, guess where game"!!!, but to make it easier I´ll give you a clue. It´s me so all you have to do is guessing where on earth I am. Points will be given according to how well you do trying to identify the city on the background. Sorry for the size and poor quality of the photo. It was almost night time and the picture was taken with a disposable camera.- ;-) Cheers!
Cool picture, Inter. Hmm, where could you be? Really I don't have much idea, but the sign says 'Broad Street', which leads me to think you're in the UK. London? Jorge, I was thinking of you when we were going up those hills in Hoyo cos I know that kind of stuff really does it for you. We were using an advanced technique called 'bike-pushing', but I'm sure people have pedaled up it before. In fact is pisses me off that I can't do it. You took part in a duathlon with your trouble and strife! I can't Adam and Eve it. That's really cool. My better half isn't sporty at all, we're like chalk and cheese. In any case, sounds like you have another string to your bow now. Well, that was very idiom intense. Anyway, maybe the 'muesca en la pistola' is 'have another string to your bow', if you interpret it loosely anyway. It's like something else you can do well, an added value. Wow, stage 2 for Madrid XC championship! Does that mean you've passed to 'the next level'? You must be in fantastic shape. But you obviously need good skills too. Just out of curiosity, who do you think would win, someone who was very strong but weak on skills, or the opposite, someone with excellent skills but not that strong? Actually riding on cold winter days is nice; well, in a way. Makes you feel like you're alive, you're not a zombie sitting in front of the idiot box. Carpe Diem! BTW, looks like I did get a picture or two of me last Sunday.
is that you ?? Would you marry my sister? Nice neat and clean, 31 yrs old spinster, good looking, non-smoking... XD I'd rather say that pretty advanced isn't that bike-pushing skill tho sometimes it's the only way to go :cry. Thanks for regarding me bloke . I'll try to answer although i'm pure newbie. If it's going to be on tracks like in the previous stage, someone with poor skills won't ever be able to win. Technical passes, banked corners, rock gardens and really breathtaking climbs were the gist of the race. So to speak my mind, you win a race on climbs but you can lose it easily if you´re average on descends. Summing up: 70% vs 30% ?? Don't know well , suck it and see i'm looking forward for you to come! That idiom's ruled thanks!
So you're saying 70% fitness, 30% skills? When I've seen XC races on youtube or whatever, it hasn't looked that technical, but maybe I haven't seen that much, and also sometimes it's a lot more difficult than it looks on the screen.
Oxford actually, but brilliant! you´re pretty good at identifying places just by a quick shot. Will be in Madrid at about 18.00h... wait a minute... I´m told it´s snowing there. I should change my flight to a beach destination. ;-) Don´t you ever be worried, Chain. You´re 100% fitness, 100% skills ;-) Wow!, Now that Jorge is into some longer XC events, it´s not only that he had a shining star lying dormant deep inside himself (now to be released) , not that his wife is a biker on her own (That´s to say getting the marriage off to a good start), but it´s all about his knock out sister. In my favour I have to say that clothes DO NOT make the man. I Know how to fry scrambled eggs! ;-) Cheers!
Yep, it snowed this morning, but now there's not even any on the ground. But I have to say a beach destination doesn't sound bad. Thanks for the vote of confidence, but when I'm with my enduro friends I'm just run of the mill, especially skills-wise, fitness-wise I might stand out a bit. Hey, maybe you can meet Jorge's sister! If she rides bikes, that could be a good first date, tho maybe Jorge and his wife will accompany you to make sure nothing untoward happens, ha ha. And yep, Jorge's star is really beginning to shine :alabando
