Hi and welcome Wadecollins, feel free to practice your English and share you passion for bikes whenever you want!

Yeah, nice and unusual photo since it´s not easy to get together with Brian and Carlos at the same time. They usually have a lot on their plates, but this time Chain managed to join them all... or should I say deceived them by saying it was going to be an easy-peasy Japanese of a ride!. They ended up exhausted... Hope it doesn´t mean Chain won´t be able to join them all again! ;-)

    Thanks 4 posting.

Hey, maybe today will be a nice day!!

BTW, I've been in touch with Wade via personal message and he's USA college student who's studying here for a semester, and a pretty serious biker. For example, he takes part in mountain bike races and cyclocross bike home, and now he wants to see what Spain has to offer for mountain bikers. I sure he won't be disappointed: we have tentative plans to go to El Pardo on Sunday.

Ops! I thought Wade was a spanish student in Madrid as part of a Spanish University Exchange or something but I´m glad he´s from the USA, you know, it takes all kinds to make a world!.
So Wade, have a warm welcome to Madrid. Chain will start to bring home and show you how it is to ride in El Pardo, I´m sure it won´t dissapoint you, It´s a convenient large park next to Madrid, but if you´re such a serious rider there are lots of more challenging dirt trails in the Sierras. Courses 4 horses!.

Went for a quick road bike ride, unfortunately I won´t be up for tomorrows ride, but if you can make it to el Pardo along with Wade have tons of fun and make him want to continue riding there!.

BTW, Is Wade into road biking as well?

    Hi Inter,

Feel free to come along, tho I imagined you wouldn't be into an enduro ride, but you're more than welcome.

Anybody else can come along too. We're meeting up in El Pardo at the Somontes car park at 10:00.

    Hi Wade,

So can you confirm that you're coming along tomorrow, barring rain. Actually a bit earlier because I hope we can be pedaling by 10:00. Don't forget to set your clock forward one hour tonight. We lose an hour of sleep, that's why I suggested meeting at 10:00 rather than 9:00, which is more typical.

Also some friends are coming along: Pedro, Paco, and his son Oscar, who are all experienced bikers, so this should be a lot of fun. Let's just keep our fingers crossed that it doesn't rain.

Personally I'm going to bring along some body armor: knee pads, elbow pads. There are lots of berms and jumps and just in case something goes wrong, well, better safe than sorry, but to each his own.

    Cheers!

Thanks, but you´re right, enduro still is not my cup of tea ;-)
Yeaaaaaaap! Saving money for my XC and then my Road carbs!. The world is becoming so specialized...

    Cheers.

Your best bet is to get in touch with Jorge, maybe send him a personal message, and find out what he and his gang have going on.

Yeah, we know very little or nothing about riding in Alcala, but Jorge is our friend biker there. So don´t hesitate to contact him, he´s a nice guy willing to take and show you around Alcala. Let us also know if you have the time to meet up for a ride here in Madrid, tho your trip to Alcala is "on business" I presume. Keep us to date, Mackem! :p

    Folks,

I mentioned this the other day, but I am driving from Madrid to Ojen (a small mountain town 20 minutes from Marbella, Spain) this Friday for the opening race in the Spanish Enduro Series sponsored by Cannondale. I am going to race on Saturday and Sunday (and get the shit kicked outta me by the pros) and would love a little company for the adventure. Can't wait to see that beautiful Spanish countryside!

Anyways, I am staying in Marbella (about 20 minutes from the race site) and plan to enjoy the beach when not riding...rough life eh?

Let me know if you wanna come along for the adventure! (We would drive down Friday mid-morning and be back Sunday 10:00 pm)

    Wade

    Hi Wade,

It was great meeting you and riding with you today in el Pardo. In the end we were lucky and didn't get any rain. So el Pardo is a lot of fun, don't you think? In the pic Wade is the one standing by me. I think he may be a fashion leader and starting a new trend with the torn cycling shorts. I think I'll start tearing all of mine, ha ha.

I think you'll have better luck finding someone to go with you to Ojen if you go to the enduro section and find someone else going. In case you're not sure where it is, here's the enduro section.

Maybe you could put something here, tho it doesn't look like a very active thread.

If you can find a group that's already going you can hook up with them, unfortunately I don't know of any, but maybe you could ask the folks at Enduro Centro.

    Good luck!

LOL If not on porpose, ripped clothes are expensive or a lot of pain to get... Many bikers see a trace of an accident as an honour medal. Not bad, gonna tear a hole in my maillot right now! :chinchin

Pah you're not trying. I've torn my face. The bit under my nose to my lip was torn in two, like a pair of curtains.

Hey Mackem! That´s Wade fashion style! But sorry to say the fashion should be on your shorts, not on your face!. ;-)

New boys at Clarkson´s private school had always been called "Stig". Jorge, show some respect for Wade, he´s the Stig!. Besides, he is inviting you to race in Ojen this weekend!

Be careful trying to follow Wade´s torn stuff style... ;-)

MacKem, The hell happend to you man???!!!

Wait a minute Jorge... I remember you and your wife liked Tyler Hamilton´s haircut, it is not acceptable for Wade to have that hairstyle as it is not considered to be the hottest look in Madrid.

What? you mean all that rain and mud was not just to fuck up our bike rides? now everything's in bloom! So last Saturday rode my classy hybrid to the Casa de Campo.

Yeah, you notice in the picture of Wade I've got my helmet on. I'm sure if I had hair like Wade's I'd take it off every chance I got.

Whoa Mackem, that must've really hurt. Ouch!

So you were in Australia, you've really been around, I imagine there's good biking there.
