Hahahaha, another "practical" joke from the web:

Two nerds are riding along on a tandem, when suddenly, the one on the front slams on the brakes, gets off and starts letting air out of the tires. Phssssssssssssssss

The one on the back says: "HEY! What are you doing that for!?"

The first nerd says, "My seat was too high and was hurting my butt. I wanted to lower it a bit."

So the one in the back has had enought. He jumps off, loosens his own seat and spins it round to face the other direction.

Now it's the first guy's turn to wonder what's going on. "What are you doing?" he asks his friend.

"Look mate," says the rider in the back, "if you're going to do stupid stuff like that, I'm going home!!"

    :confused::confused::confused:

Ha ha ha, but I don't think they're nerds. Nerds are supposed to be really smart, but in a dorky way. When they were passing out brains, those guys thought they said trains, ha ha.

So continuing with slang, how about this one? The guy in the picture is in very very deep shit, aaarrgg!!

 What a wipeout! I´m sure technlology will change the way we face fall downs. Yet this month is the month where another step has been taken towards that future. R&D of an airbag that covers the cyclist´s head began back in 2005. As far as I know, this invisible helmet has been recently launched into the market. It would come as no surprise if this trend were to continue in a full body airbag, wouldn´t it?

Sounds like a nice idea in theory, especially in the winter when it's cold, but in practice that price tag is prohibitive.

Sorry you can't join us tomorrow for our bike ride.

Yeah, I belive that price should go down by at least 60%. Too much but it´s a start.

Hey! Your bike´s brother has just been born!

    Cheers!

Would you dare to step out bed for a morning ride? OMG! It's darn cold outside, tuck in your clothes and socks, I'll probably make a sly comeback to bed, 'cos I'm pretty close to be catching a cold. Health issues again, a duathlon approaching this Sunday it's always the same stuff.

The newborn Rallon looks gorgeous doesn't she? Despite not being my cup of tea she looks smooth and impressive, those colours can really catch your eye.

Having put an eye on that helmet I can only say I dislike it, thumb down, does it have to be so huge? No way I would carry that over my shoulders, what a burden!

By the time I'm writing this you're probably getting ready for your ride, you give me the shivers!!

Hey, sorry I've been a bit out of touch, have been busy, mainly working and riding my bike. Thanks to the latter I'm feeling pretty good!

Inter, interesting about the new Rallon. I have to say I'm happy with mine, very versatile, and it looks like the new one will be even more so because you can change the seat and fork angles. Nice!

Jorge my man, yeah it's a bit chilly out these days. On our road bikes last Friday it was cold and windy, makes the ride less enjoyable, especially on a road bike where you get blown around more. Tomorrow some of us are going to the Pardo bright and early, so it should be cold, oh well it's the price you pay, but no pain no gain, something like that. Anyway, haven't been there for ages.

Hope you're well and don't catch a cold! Take care of yourself.

If anybody's in to going to the Pardo tomorrow we're meeting at 9:00 in the Somontes parking lot.

A fun day in El Pardo. And yes, it was cold first thing in the morning, tho later it warmed up, people started shedding jackets and buffs. For a while my hands were really cold, and I was wearing winter gloves!

Here I am coming off a berm. Modesty aside, I think I've improved my cornering technique, I'm turning my hips in the direction I want to go, 'Steer with your hips!'

Thumbs up , you are actually improving skills, and if it's well learnt you'll never had to get back to it, it'll be in you! So good job. Well, my stupid statement of the day goes like this....-why are you still carrying such a bulky backpack?? Wouldn't you feel much more comfortable with a slighter one? It doesn't make too much sense dragging all that stuff if you're not on your own. Share, scrounge, do whatever instead of it!

By teh way you know I love you dear and I miss that little Pardo morning elopes

Oh, the bulky backpack, that's nothing, I just carry around a defribrillator with me wherever I go. You just never know when it will come in handy! Let me tell you, the batteries are really heavy, but the peace of mind is worth it. Ha ha, seriously, it's always good to be prepared, tho I was never a boy scout.

Ooookay, you probably say that to all the morning complutense boys, ha ha.

Hey, I beg to differ but nothing to do with a medical or a mechanical package. It´s a training strategy which includes weight as an important part to strengthen his muscular system. By getting rid of the ballast on his back he´s capable of much more when given the chance on serious rides. Ever wonder why he´s so reluctant to show what´s inside? Anyways, If this method is proved to be effective and safe enough I will make a dash for my own backpack! ;)

Well, today did a favorite, went to La Pedriza on the road bike. Ended up going there alone as Juan Carlos y David turned around at the Cima Javi Tondo. Let me tell you, it was cold this morning!, but La Pedri wasn't so bad really: sun! it was nice (but still cold).

    not so cold then uh??

Pretty nice to see you made it, you had to be mighty tough to do it. By the way, the weather here in Alcala sucks, a damned blend of frost soil, ice and snow spots making your way dangerous so it's time to take it easy.

Believe me, it was fucking cold when we started out. I saw a thermometer in Madrid that said 1º. As for cold weather clothes, the works! You can see in the pic I'm wearing a thermal balaclava, was also wearing a thick jacket, neoprene gloves with liner gloves underneath. Was actually a bit hot on the way back.

So it's not a good time to go for a ride in Alcalá. At least it's probably not as cold there as it is in the Sierras. In any case, this IS a good time to go El Pardo, or to the Sierra foothills.

These picks reminds me of my not so good landing... :( But the first one is really thrilling. I only hope the photografer were using a good tele, just in order to be not close of the flying rider. It's not good to be the "runway" in these situations, is it?

About me, this week I'm working quite a lot, apart from being focused in some other things, so this week both my home trainer and my bike has stayed parked. But at least I will start the next week cycling, because I hope I'll be doing that on monday morning! :D What I still don't know is if I'll be on "hamster" mode or not, ha ha.

Hi Marío, good to hear from you!

Believe me, I've had my share of crashes, the last bad one was when I endoed just last September. My helmet and chin guard really saved me.

My daughter's just bought a hamster wheel so I may also be spending time pedaling and going nowhere. It's a lot nicer getting outside tho, but when you're busy and it's freezing out, maybe not. But tomorrow I'll be braving sub-zero temperatures at Hoyo de Manzanares.

Well, Hoyo wasn't nearly as cold as I thought. AEMET said minimum -3º, max 4º, but when we got there the thermometer in the car said 2º and when we left 13º, was actually a pleasant day.

Check out this pic. I'm going up 'the slab', (la losa), it's a pretty tough climb but thanks to the camera angle, it looks like I'm practically going up a wall. It's amazing how the camera angle affects the perceived difficulty. I took other pics from another angle and it doesn't look like anything.
