Can some one give an aproximate translation to "Chuffing". I assume it has nothing to do with "horchata" ....

As a non-native speaker, far from the expertise required, I never heard of it before.
Chainring doesn´t seem to use it every single day… :) It appears to be some kinda brit slang…

MacKem, Could you please tell us the meaning of those words in full and where u are from...

    Cheers!.

It is Brit slang but I've heard it before (well, not this variation) and am pretty sure I got it right. In any case, it may well be that Mackem is long gone and won't be answering your queries any time soon. But who knows?

You made me a bit curious about the F word so I tried to find the documentary mentioned but no luck. However, not all is lost: I did manage to find this wholesome educational video.

    Thanks for the video!.

A good command of the F-word is reserved to (almost) native speakers... Some words in spanish are pretty similar.
"Stuff" is another example of a complex english word that requires expertise. The meaning depends even on the intonation used. Difficult for non native people.

    Cheers.

I cant remember why I decided to say "Chuffing great". It does mean very good, but in a sarcastic way, like "Oh chuffing great, I have to work on Sunday". Again, no idea why I used that phrase, perhaps I was drunk. Always been happy to be here, in fact this is the longest I've lived in one place since going to university at 18 (I'm 41).

PS - Chuffing is just a more polite way of using the F-word. A word that seems to be overused nowadays.

Chuffing is another way of saying fucking. There are people who want to swear but won't use the words. they want to say shit, but they say sugar!! It's also the same as ***** not always translating into fuck, it could be damn, blast, bugger depending on context. Fuck is quite strong to the English ear.

Thank U Simon. Yeah, it´s the same method of using not too strong words to the ear we have around here, this time with a possible ironic sense. Good to know it.

Impressive photos you have on your site. Didn´t know about your business. It sounds like if you wanted to combine bikes and photos when started. Very nice pics, Great job!!!
