hi here i am yet!! i've been resting for a long, the weekend has worn me bad! Everything as i expected, exciting, quick, and exhausting!! 77 kms and 3h49m ride, p29? not so bad. I had cramps threats since 32nd km but i dealt with it, auqrius and bananas did well. It wasn't a very technical or steep ride, and the organisation did a great job at provisionings so fully assorted and supplied. Eventually, at the finish line there was a nice snack with empanada, macarrones and drinks for everyone. I'm hoping to return in 2k13 there!!
Dude, that´s a pretty fast ride mate. I can´t barely get that average rate of speed on my road bike for the total distance. So you are the life (Thank God you´re alive to tell us) proof that Organized rides worht it. You know, some people are reluctant to let someone else take charge of their rides but eventually it could be a good idea, especially when at the finish line or during your ride cocacola stands are waiting for you!. For now let your body and bike rest. ;-)
Hey, congratulations on your ride. Sounds like now you're getting a well-deserved rest. But don't rest too much or you'll start getting out of shape! In any case, I actually wasn't too far away, went on a ride that started off in Patones de Abajo, then to Patones de Arriba, Torrelaguna, around el Atazar, then back to Patones. I actually think I saw a couple of lost riders from your race, hope they found their way home! Let me tell you, there are some hills out there, we were certainly going much much slower than you.
thanks for your kudos!! I really appreciate them well. Chain Patones is an unearthy place to me, paradise for full-sussers, once i went there i had real big deal with the f_____ river, i was unable to cross it and well, it's a nice bar story. I like those singletracks though i'm scary for the terrain. In fact there are some places i fear the most: Patones, Loma del Noruego, Cueva Valiente...... much too rough to a child....
Loma del Noruego, Cueva Valiente... Funny names. It seems to me like you´re an expert on almost every trail all over Madrid…
I haven't been to Cueva Caliente and I haven't even heard of Loma del Noruego. It is true that lots of places have funny names like El Bambi, El Miedo, El Calvario, El Whistler, El Gallo. I think Cueva Caliente is somewhere near San Rafael and El Ingeniero; I've been there and enjoyed myself. I suppose most people have their favorite place to ride, but it's always fun to break new ground and discover new trails. For scary rides El Miedo is right up there, El Whistler too. I remember I walked down sections there. It was really too much for me, just wasn't ready for it. I remember I was having a bad day, my confidence had already been dented, and then came up against some truly advanced terrain. Well, had to sacrifice my pride and look like a coward with a cool enduro bike. Oh well, we all have bad days. Like most people I've had one or two good days here and there, for example last Sunday at Patones. I was actually feeling pretty confident on some pretty technical trails; I felt in control and 'one with the bike' ha ha. I was thinking, Hot damn!, could it be I'm getting better!?
Yeah, and here you are changing names to make them even funnier… What the hell were you thinking? Jorgt said Cueva Valiente not Cueva Caliente! Anyway I guess it´s easier for a den to be hot than brave. Of course you´re getting better. There are lots of nice vids, great books or articles out there, but once you know the basics, all those skills are learnt by riding, by practicing different techniques and - worse of all- by falling. Moving your skill levels to an upper stage requires struggling with what Mother Nature puts on our way. And that’s fun. Sometimes getting new skills has to do with common sense, natural and confident movements rather than manual directions. For you they are coming natural because you´ve done it many times… So keep on riding!!! No pride at stake. Cheers!
Key points on the release of the last Usada`s strong evidences against Lance labels him as a serial cheater & doper. •Achievements of USPS/Discovery Channel pro cycling team accomplished through the most sophisticated, professional and successful doping programme that sport has ever seen. •Armstrong's career at the team was fuelled from start to finish by doping . •More than a dozen former team-mates, friends and former team employees confirm a fraudulent course of conduct. •Armstrong acted with the help of a small army of enablers, including doping doctors, drug smugglers and others within and outside the sport and his team. •He had ultimate control over not only his own personal drug use but over the doping culture of the team. •Team staff were good at predicting when testers would turn up and seemed to have inside information. •Evidence is beyond strong and as strong as any case brought by Usada in its existence. The 200 page report: http://d3epuodzu3wuis.cloudfront.net/ReasonedDecision.pdf :crybaby :crybaby :crybaby :crybaby :crybaby http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2012/oct/11/lance-armstrong-report-includes-200-pages-26-witne/
Sad to see a hero fall. And you're right, 'Cueva Caliente' sounds like it could be the title of a porn film, ha ha.
El Ingeniero, i didn't remember that. Sweet.... it's a mint! Yeah what's he been doing when he wrote Cueva Caliente.?... close porno tabs before reading our forum!! So EL Miedo and Whistler are scary too . Damnn i 'll get there and check it out!! Armstrong's brat ways seem familiar .... hope it will be cleared. USADA, Puero, Docs connection and the most, some of our heros are bound to fall. A.C. ??Transfer bags perhaps, from a renowned tennis player? Football teams...? Please go for cheaters now. It's disgusting
Indeed. Very sad. I´m reading the report. It´s not a common legal report. Legal reports are not this simple, and I think it´s not intended to be. It´s kinda autobiographical novel, a story told by a closer narrator... Usada is using a clever technique of introducing overwhelming evidences as if it were a full detailed short novel. I reccomend you to read it as it were a book. You won´t find many legal words but an arrow straight to the heart of Lance and what it seems he did... The most dangerous report they could possibly make.
Yeah, read the first 'chapter', the summary, and get the feeling the USADA is really out for blood and going for the jugular. And a bit of a kick-him-while-he's-down syndrone too: 'Let's gang up on Armstrong, everybody's doing it'. Maybe their plan will backfire and people will begin to think it's just a bit over the top to crucify Armstrong when probably everybody was in on it. Yeah yeah, think I was getting hot looking at some sexy babes on bikes.
Yeap, Nowadays any cycling victory has to be proven legal and real beyond any question. Maybe this report is the last of an era in which almost everybody was under suspicion. We´ve to look forward to be in need of human heros for a inhumane sport, that´s the real question. Maybe that girl above works the problem out!. Let the winner be not the faster but the smarter on a bike!!! I solemny declare inaugurated the 1st. Cueva Caliente trophy awards!.
A very powerful story. The guy's been to hell and back. And it was really unfortunate he fell into this doping 'culture', and against his better judgement. Also sounds like he's a recovered alcoholic. Yet, he bit the apple so to speak, he's responsible for his actions. But he's paid the price and is now that much wiser. He's been redeemed. I can see Armstrong's guilt as one who fully embraced and even promoted this doping culture. Yet in my book there are mitigating circumstances, namely the doping culture surrounding him. He may be a villain, but he's also a victim. He just needs to come clean now, like David Millar did.
