As a real cylist, Maja's got way more class than the other one, imho.

Glad you and your Alma are OK. Your health is top priority. BTW, I experienced fairly hard contact with the ground about a month ago, but happily I'm fully recovered. Well, actually it always seems something lingers, for example I injured my shoulder about a year ago, and sometimes it starts hurting again!

Your Alma? Sometimes I think I'd like a top-of-the-line XC bike, but I'll have to settle for a decent one for the time being.

I stopped stretching and this weekend I paid the price: got a pinched sciatic nerve. So spent the weekend on the sofa watching guys skydive from 39 km :alloreto Well, I'm recovering well and will probably go for a short ride tomorrow morning.

Yeah, the highest skydive in History and the 1st. One to break the sound barrier, down from an experimental rocket powered plane... Nothing too new to Chain´s jumps on the Rallon!.

On Saturday I rode on my own to Puente de la Marmota and back home. That completed a smooth&pleasant 80-90 Kilometers XC ride... Mamma mia! Nothing to do with what the guy with the number 266 jersey does!!!. Damn it Jorgt, THIS IS YOU! isn´t it?

    266.1 (1).JPG 266.2.JPG

And yes! A little bird told me that after all the hype, that austrian was not the first one to skydive that high. One of your friends at “Las mañanas Complutenses” was!. Cool thread you have.

LOL Austen´s favourite word! Countenance... I bet Chain have never used that word in a normal conversation...
I remember reading "countenance" in Stevenson´s novel Doctor Jeckyll and Mr. Hide!
Where the hell are the old words you use coming from?!!!

Chain, what do you think of Jorge´s funny English?! LOL!

'Countenance' is basically a literary word: I've never heard it in everyday conversation. But maybe I'll start using it and see what kind of reaction I get. It's a verb as well, "I will not countenance your behaviour', 'I won't tolerate / accept it'.

About Jorge's English, it sounds like he just stepped out of the film Trainspotting, and I mean that as a compliment, I mean, you're living on the linguistic edge, so always interesting, LOL!

By the way Jorge, you ever go to the Pardo?

I was just in El Pardo yesterday and the riding is great. It's much better in the winter, or at least after rain because it isn't sandy and slippery. I've been there a zillion times, I suppose it helps that I don't live too far away, in fact can get there via the bike lane. In any case, if you want to, I'd be happy to show you my favorite trails, lots of uphills and downhills, jumps and berms, a lot of fun!

Yeah, Doohan´s right. Jorgt´s English is great, he doesn´t speak it but he chews it up!
But I wanna tell you something... His Spanish is greater!. I was craking up while reading what he wrote about his last ride at “Las mañanas”... Really funny man!

Yep, Jorge's got a real affinity for languages, but most of us who write here do. But if he rides as well as he writes... and I suppose he does 'cause he hardly ever crashes. Me, I'm Captain Crash!

Hobson's choice means you don't really have any choice at all. Is that your situation right now? Like, you can get your bike back on Tuesday, or on the day after Monday, ha ha.

No bike! That is painful. Tho it's going to be raining anyway. In my case I have five of them, so if one is out of commision, there are others, tho not necessarily the one I want, but they're all in working order at the moment.

Yeap. I´m a fair weather rider so I postponed the morning ride as it was sprinkling. Shortly thereafter with sunshine and the roads still wet I decided it was about time for a short ride to El PArdo turning out to be the evening and place to go due to the wet terrain in there and the traction and grip I got in return. Cool.

Ops. Today´s Post edition: It seems like no chance of fair weather rides for this morning. Was I lucky enough to ride in the sunshine just the few minutes it wasn´t raining at all on the weekend???!

Take a proof of what I say by seeing this yesterday´s photo at El Pardo. No rain, not even much cloudy skies when I rode...

    VistaPardoCdeTiro.jpg

What about you guys!. Today Chain went for an enduro ride... Sorry to see It´s raining again in Madrid.

Interaptor, in your picture you can see El Palomero in the background, the beginning of a popular downhill, and you can see the shooting range buildings too. In fact you look like you're near the beginning of another well-known downhill which called Los Peraltes.

So it looks like yesterday evening was a good time for a bike ride. Unfortunately I was working at the time, but as you know today I went to Cercedilla with the 7picos group and really had a blast, and we were really lucky that it didn't rain while we were there, tho it did start the moment we left. Maybe it was waiting for us to leave, ha ha. We were lucky, and it was a good ride inspite of some cold and windy weather at times.

Jorge's right: there's no sign of mud on your bike. I think the ground is thirsty and is drinking up all the water, and it helps that the rain is light but steady so the ground has time to absorb it. In Cercedilla we crossed a few mini-streams so we definitely got our bikes dirty, so we stopped off at a gas station on the way home and washed them there :limpiadi:

I'm sure this is a tough time for you Jorge, without your beloved :corazon but if it's any consolation the best time to be without your bike is when it's raining.
