Is it just my impression or it is a risky bussiness to be one of your friends? As far as I can see they all fall down to get faceplanted !! (just kidding)
Have you tried using image shack? That should allow you to post bigger pictures. http://imageshack.us/ Actually today at Alcalá I had some 'learning experiences' I think I'd rather not have. Fell... twice! Ouch! Don't know what was the matter with me. I was really lucky I was wearing my body armor because the first time I fell I made hard contact with my right shoulder. The shoulder guard probably protected me from a broken collar bone or damaged tendons. I can raise my arms and move them about OK, but it hurts like hell when I raise my right arm, eeeauuuuu Also managed to hurt one of my toes. But hey, nothing too serious: finished the ride. Hey, looks great! Nice day, nice views, nice ride. The ocean! That's something I only see in August.
Well, if I'm ever in your area I'll try to arrange a ride in Collserola, sounds like the equivalent of the Casa de Campo here in Madrid. That looks like Galicia! The lush vegetation means you get trails like this. This pic was taken two years ago in the Ferrol area.
I got some pics from today's ride and little by little I'll be posting them here. When I first went out there I was actually stunned by the beauty, just wasn't expecting it.
WOWWWW!, It was to my joyfull surprise that lastnight upon turning my laptop on I saw all of your photos from Cantabria, Barcelona and Alcala. Got home too tired to post a proper reply to everyone, but in essence I want to emphasize how fortunate we are to live in a country that is a paradise so beautiful and diverse. I need not to say how blissful I am riding a bike to make some acquaitance of it. As Chain says, I should use imageshack since the biggest grievance I have posting photos in here is that concerning its limited size. Thank you for the tip!. Hope you´re OK after your -2 in a row- falls. You didn´t give up the ride, but man you know today you could move in pain... Hope you don´t. ;-) Pd.- That Ronda Verde in the pipeline in Barcelona is similiar in concept and lenght to our Anillo Verde in Madrid. :chinchin Nice to see people getting conscious of the benefit of biking and long bike lanes.
I need a 'like' button for your last post, totally agree about how much good biking we have in Spain, when I'm riding I'm blissfully happy! But today I'm full of aches and pains. Even my butt injury from last week still hurts. I'm going to have to take it easy for a while, you know, not push myself so hard.
Two thumps up! (no like button we have to improvise) We are lucky of weather and countryside, no doubt about. Mr.ChainRing... Man, be careful! yesterday I did a boring (never boring enough while cycling but sure you understeand me) long track along the Besós river and today I'm tired but not "full of aches and pains" (as literally you said) Take it easy for a couple of weeks, sure mountain and tracks won't disappear
Yeah, Mr.Audio is right! cheer it up, Chain. It doesn´t matter to be in pain or to be under pain of death about being crucified. You just don´t grumble, give a whistle and... always look on the bright side of life!!! ;-) ;-) ;-) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJUhlRoBL8M ;-)
i've been in my hideout for some time, now i want to give a warm welcome to mr audio and just to make myself noticed among you guys, really beautiful flicks those you uploaded, and the best of it all is that some of them are in my playground.... Chain, my best wishes, get well asap and keep blasting trails as usual. Mario my greatest contempt for you for i'm all green: what on earth where you thinking about when you come here boasting of that cheerful sweet ride on the green land of Cantabria?? Did you expect anything else in response? i hate you hate you i hate you and you will pay for it lad, time will provide.... on the meantime i'll be sharpening my blade for you darling Inter keep pushing and come to Alcala ! Woooof! i'm knackered nevertheless i'll try to read it all...... if not today...tomorrow!!
Brian's Life... Thank you for the warm welcome. Always is nice to feel welcome (even in this virtual place) ... and I fully agree with you, such a green place to envy Cantabria. Just in pictures seems to be green-color forced (!). I do not hate him hate him hate him as you 'cause I do not know him do not know him... Good night everybody!
And a very nice playground you have there. If Jorge hates him hates him, then so do I!! Ha ha ha. The Life of Brian, a classic. Some really dark, irreverent humor there. I like it! Hey, I'm doing all right, not going to be missing any bike rides soon, in fact I was thinking of reaching for my limits again, and that means reaching for the sky (because the sky's the limit!), ha ha. The photo below was taken in Alcalá.
that word, galore has always reminded me of that evil girl from James Bond's films, slant name she had, Miss Pussy Galore.... wooo hoooo!!! and of course, not to mention Urshula Andreshh this is it, Honor Blackman on her prime!!
As everyone has already told you, feel at home, Mr. Audio. I did it not so long ago, a and it's been a great idea! :burladia: your envy is so boring... If you feel like going for a ride there maybe we can arrange something, but only if you're a good boy, aren't you? Anyway, I'll continue keeping you updated with all that green stuff anytime I'll enjoy it again, because as things are getting on, I'll be there soooo many times this summer, when everything in Alcalá is dry, dusty and yellow :saltarin Be careful Chain. You're being seduced by the dark side :alloreto
Holly Goodhead, Pussy Galore... Double entendre names from 007 films Pussy Galore: "My name is Pussy Galore." 007: "I must be dreaming." ;-)
I guess you all boys are slipping from MTB to women... In a quick movement! I like women too but in a few post this thread has moved from "Show me you neighborhood" to "What a woman Mrs. Pussy Galore"
Inter, you've got to pay a visit to Alcalá before everything dries up, and that will probably be sooner rather than later. Oh nooooooo, maybe Jorge is in reality... the Evil Emperor, aaaahhhhhhh It's not too hard to understand. I bet this in one of the most successful threads in recent history in the forum. I mean, you could spend hours going through it page by page, learning about bikes, and never get bored!!! http://www.foromtb.com/showthread.php?t=939005&highlight=me+gusta+la+bici+cada+vez+mas
You made the most of your visit David!! I can't believe my eyes it's all so green and pretty that camera can really take pictures doesn't it? - here i hesitate...can't it shrieks in my ears but- and we can't realise how steep that trail is , actually plummeting onto the dirt track! Am i the Emperor?? Then who's my wife? She can give you the creeps i bet !
Yeah, I can tell you that was a steep trail. The camera was an Exilim ZR 200. I should get one, I hear you can find some on sale now. Hey dudes, like just totally check out this video. I mean the guys are soooooo cool, they could definitely give cool lessons, ha ha ha. Actually I'm jealous, wish I could ride like that. For example, starting at 1,40 they go really fast over rocky trails, which is actually safer because you sort of glide over the rocks, but if you lose control, if you don't keep the bike pointed in the right direction, you are really up shit creek without a paddle.
