Yeah, I've been wondering when we can face the Alalá mud and hostile vegetation, maybe this Saturday, tho I'd have to leave early, at about 1:00 because I work in the afternoon. Sunday's a possibility too tho that's usually Sierra day. Alternatively, we could consider going on a ride like this, ha ha
Yeah, I can tell you Jorge is right. Yesterday I went for a ride in the evening with two more mañaneros, and the vegetation has grown up to infinite! It's terrifying trying to get some of the tracks, and for sure you'll pick up some thorns, asI did yesterday thanks to the invaluable cooperation of my skinny summer gloves... Auch! About the weekend, I'm available on saturday, and it's our official meeting day so, maybe you'll enjoy a good ride in our beloved park surrounded by a bunch of mañaneros, won't you? Thanks for the vídeo, Chain, but I prefer to enjoy it comfortably sitting on my sofa with all of my teeth in their right place instead of being sticked in the ground
Oh That´s music to my ears, Mario! But to be honest I´m just having second thoughts... On Saturday, the day after our Friday´s road bike ride, we could be broken down more than usual to keep up any decent pace with the LAS MAÑANAS COMPLUTENSES cycling pack. Chain, U sure you wanna go this gung-ho way? ;-)
Actually riding with the mañaneros sounds like fun, but we'd definitely have to take it easy on our Friday ride. Also, to be honest, can't say I'm in my strongest moment ever, my injuries and the rain have slowed me down a bit, but sounds like fun!
So it´s a ready, steady and go for a relaxing ride tomorrow. Sounds pretty impossible to me, but if you say so... 8) Anyways, I´m wondering if it would be an opportune time since Jorgt is thinking of racing at the Marchamalo ride event on Sunday. Let´s decide tomorrow!
Uh yeah, don't want to impose on you or inconvenience you, but ya think you could lend me your bike on Saturday? Don't worry, I'd let you ride on my Conor Tora! ha ha, just kidding. Seriously though, I'd like to be heading home at 1:00 at the latest, hope that's not a problem. Don't want to be inconsiderate!
Jorge, this is where we met up the other two times I was there. Is that where you start? Is it a convenient place to meet? I was thinking of telling other people about our ride and sending them the map below, and telling them to be there at 8:30 and pedaling at 9:00. How does that sound? https://maps.google.es/maps?daddr=4...02975,0.006947&t=h&mra=mift&mrsp=1&sz=18&z=18
awesome, meet you up there! and btw, 13h is more than enough for me, we'll probably be back sooner AND BRING THE BIKE YOU LIKE THE MOST, WE' are not to race are we? some sweet climbs, and swift trails too. Sounds! sorry for the caps
I'm bringing my XC bike, so look out! ha ha ha. Actually I had a hardish ride today so don't know if I'm going to be up to racing you. Just having fun on those climbs and trails sounds better. See ya soon!
So today Inter and I finally went for a ride with Jorge, Mario and others from las mañanas complutenses, and have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it. It really was spectacular, much more enjoyable than I'd imagined. I suppose I thought that a large part of it would be like riding road bikes on dirt. But no, far from it, it was quite technical. We went on all sorts of trails I wasn't familiar with, and they required good skills. It's a great place to improve your skills because there's almost everything imaginable, except maybe rocks. For example, I see I need to improve when you make a sharp turn and then immediately start going up a steep uphill: takes strength and skill. There were times where I was pushing myself to the limit, and that's what I like! It really was a good ride. Some of the trails were breathtaking, like when you're riding alongside a cliff. I tell you, you mess up or lose your concentration, and it's REALLY going to hurt. Thoroughly enjoyable. Had a ball. Today I was all decked out as an XC rider, the only protection I had on was my helmet. Actually I'm used to dressing up like Darth Vader, makes me feel safer, but I could see how you could into straight XC in Alcalá. With all the technical sections you wouldn't get bored at all. It's surprising how much Alcalá has to offer. I have to say I was impressed with the mañaneros as well, especially Jorge and they guy who was following him like a shadow (sorry I don't remember his name, he had the 29er Kona. Wait! I think it was Zafra). They just sailed up some of those uphills while I was huffing and puffing. Those guys from Alcalá are made of strong stuff! I was also impressed with Inter, who isn't used to technical riding but who has good natural skills, and who hung in there pretty well! Believe me, this stuff isn't for the faint of heart. As one of the mañaneros said after a steep downhill, 'con un par de *******', and that about sums it up. Really enjoyed myself!
Yep, You gave a good review of our yesterday´s ride. Despite the tehcnical sections -a lot of them were really challenging- are not my cup of tea, I truly enjoyed every inch of the way, and man, I´ve to say we were surprised on the variety of the breathtaking backgrounds and how well we were guided and taken care of. Hosted by the Mañaneros, we went up and down through the hills surrounding Alcalá, getting nice views of the whole area. Having been training there for years, they know the area like the back of their hands. It is for sure a demanding but rewarding ride over there if you go fast over the hills as we did. To Jorge and Mario I wanna thank U so much for a lovely day on Saturday. It was great to have had such a cycling day! :chinchin
Yeah, I think it was Zafra. He´s got a state-of-the art frame made out of titanium in the US, tho by now I Know I would fail in taking any noticeable advantage of such jewel of a bike! http://www.konaworld.com/bike.cfm?content=raijin ;-)
Argh my eyes! Too much lycra! Had a good/hard/sunny/muddy ride round Tolosa today. Has an incident with a mole gun. Poked it with a stick and it went off, bit of a bang, knocked me off my feet. Couple of Guiris... http://instagram.com/p/ZyDy7zvRkU/
what the heck is it MArk??? Dont you like tight male thighs.... our manhood overwheming your eyes and all...?? Well i pretty much undrestand. But his is it. we reminded you!! It was quite a good time out here yesterday, i really enjoyed myself, hope you did it too!! So many sweeeet trails did great deal!!! Actually Angel is quite a moaner, and David sailed through trails, so it was balanced, no problem! It went as good as i expected, no casualties and tons of fun and grins so looking forward to hearing for you .... :crazy
Mole guns!! Well, there's something new to look out for. Tolosa looks beautiful, in fact it reminds of the Sierras! Hey, we came away smiling, just look at this picture! And here's a pic Inter in action, which goes to show that when the chips are down, you can count on Ángel.
BTW, had a good ride in the Sierra today, which actually ended up being longer and harder than we thought, but it was really nice; having some wonderful spring weather these days, spectacular views. Here's a pic of me on the way up to La Morcuera. You can see the Miraflores Water Reservoir behind me, also somewhere along those mountains behind me is Pico Perdiguera, where we went, along with more places! In any case, I'll be posting more pictures these days.
Hi guys, sorry for not saying anything about our yesterday meeting, it was getting late... Like now. To start, this is the link to the photos: https://plus.google.com/photos/11351...44467126666993 We'll speak tomorrow! :bye
Ey! Thumbs up for those beautiful photos you´ve posted from Tolosa and the Miraflores Water Reservoir. After getting at the top of the mountains we usually can see great views to take as a reward!. Mario´s link doesn´t seem to work. As for me, everything considered, moaner or roarer, I did all right! ;-) Mark, the hell are u doing with a mole gun?
